As such, I continue to explore less expensive (or free) programs that students can use. And while I continue to use this professional software suite, it often does not fit a school’s budget when trying to support a 1:1 laptop program. Adobe Illustrator costs 20.99 per month (yearly subscription) or 240 per year (pre-paid) just to access the software. It has been free for all these years and it always will be. I have always enjoyed the Adobe Suite for both vector and bitmap graphic design. This is one of the reasons why many professionals consider switching to free alternatives like Inkscape.
